Welcome to the Village of Walton Hills

National Police Week

Construction remains on schedule.  Weather permitting, the contractor will shift construction activity from the west side of the roadway to the east side of the Dunham Road pavement on Monday April 19, 2021.  Traffic will continue to be restricted to southbound only and vehicles will be directed to drive on the west side, or the normal legal side, of the road.  Dunham Road will remain restricted to southbound only traffic throughout the duration of the project.

All Federal, State and Village of Walton Hills Income Tax returns will now be due on May 17, 2021.  This deadline was an extension granted by both the Federal Government and the State of Ohio.  You may continue to drop your W-2s and any other forms off in our white mailbox at Village Hall if you would like our Tax Administrator, Angela Revay, to prepare them and mail you back your copy.

Dunham Road Reconstruction Project Update

Construction on the Dunham Road Reconstruction Project is scheduled to begin on 01-04-2021, and work is scheduled to be completed on 06-11-2021. Fabrizi Trucking and Paving, Inc. will be the contractor performing this work. The existing pavement will be reconstructed to provide a new driving surface. Also, the pavement will be widened to accommodate new bike lanes in each direction. When complete, the bike lanes will connect Dunham Park in Maple Heights to the existing bike lanes on Tinkers Creek Road, which leads to the popular Ohio & Erie Canalway Towpath Trail. This work will take place on Dunham Road (between Turney Road and Gorge Parkway), as well as a small part of Tinkers Creek Road within the Village of Walton Hills. During the construction period, Dunham Road will be restricted to southbound traffic only. All northbound traffic will be required to use the signed detour route.

The Village of Walton Hills is a progressive and proactive community located in southeastern Cuyahoga County just north of the Summit County line. We are in close proximity to I-271 and the Route 8 expressway. We have a population of approximately 2,200 residents. The Village encompasses a total of 7 squares miles. Approximately three square miles of Cleveland Metroparks’ Bedford Reservation and part of the Cuyahoga Valley National Park are located within the boundary lines of the Village.

The Village Officials consist of a Mayor, six Councilpersons-at-large, a Chief of Police, a Fiscal Officer, a Building Inspector and a Street Commissioner. A working contractual agreement with the Oakwood Village Fire Department serves the fire-fighting requirements of the Village and provides emergency medical service to the residents. Walton Hills is a semi-rural planned community. It is a community that provides its residents with the necessary services and affords them the opportunity of participating in planned recreational, social, business and civic organizations.
